About HANDASSIA

HANDASSIA is an Egyptian engineering consultant office which provides services of design and project management in Egypt, Middle East, Africa since almost three decades. Handassia designs generaly various public projects, and we have a destinguished prequalification in the domain of educatioal and community projects. The vision behind HANDASSIA is to explore and use architecture as a medium to strengthen cultural and individual confidence, to support local economies and to foster the ecological balance. A sustainable building that is harmonious in its design, structure, technique and use of materials together with constraints, traditions and heritage of its community.

HANDASSIA and education

Since its inauguration in 1988, HANDASSIA has paid much attention in the domain of educational buildings design, starting from kindergartens and up to mega educational campuses. HANDASSIA follows frequently the latest architecture solutions, ideas and technologies in designing educational spaces, which has led HANDASSIA to be the pioneer and the only consultant office in middle east that is specialized in educational buildings design. HANDASSIA has designed more than seventy educational buildings of public and private schools, kindergartens and high educational projects in Egypt, KSA, UAE and Australia. The company has achieved several local and international prizes from Egypt and the USA.

HANDASSIA and community projects

HANDASSIA keens on community participating in projects of education, culture and human development, and that is through the projects of community schools (one room schools) in the poorest villages in Egypt which suffer the most of severe lack of schools, designing public and child libraries, and designing relegious and vocational center in African countries like Ughanda. HANDASSIA has achieved an architectural prize from Misr Al Kheir charitable establishment for designing low cost school prototypes for the rural and remote regions in Egypt.

HANDASSIA and QESP program

QESP - German grant (2014)
The Quality of Education Support Program (QESP) is a development program for building new governmental schools in Egypt according to international educational standards , and also by building extensions and rehabilitation for existing governmental schools in selected regions that suffers the most of lack of basic schools. With a total cost of 600,000,000 Egp, and financed by German bank of development (KFW), and under supervision of the German consultant office (GOPA), the program has commenced in 2014 by qualifying specialized Egyptian consultant offices to participate in the tender of designing the program schools divided into three phases. In Jul 2014 HANDASSIA was awarded the designing and supervision tender for projects of phase 1 for 31 schools in Assiut and Sohag governorates with budget of 200,000,000 EGP
